I've Moved!

OK. So I realize that I have been absent for over a year...but I just found that I was struggling to keep up a blog back then....
Sooooo, I started a new blog! I'm now using Wordpress as a platform, but you don't have to have a Wordpress account to follow me!
You just have to put in your email to get an email every time I post! x)
So if you would like to check out my blog you can head on over to passionmango.wordpress.com that is my writing blog!
I write fiction, opinions, words, book reviews, and more over there, so if you're interested, please check it out! I'd love to have you! :)

Also, I started another blog, a more personal blog where I post in more of a journal-like way. You can visit me there too! At nerdyowly.wordpress.com

I'm not exactly sure why I moved to Wordpress....especially since I can personalize my Blogger blog more.... And I may someday come back to blogger, but for now, I'm sticking with what I got. ;)

Hope to see you soon!
Lots of love,
xoxo

I'm Back! And I brought some whales!

Hello everyone! It has been so long since I have been around! But I have an excuse (like always....) First, I have been reading like CRAZY! literally.
Second, I am in the middle of starting a website! I am going to stop blogging here on blogger, move to a new blogging platform!
Third, I have been working on the project below, working it in-between the books I have been reading! So Here is my most recent project!

My Mom's cousin is pregnant, and expecting a boy! So I thought I would make him a little something! His bedroom theme is nautical, and the color scheme is dark blue, light blue, and green! so I make him a hat, using those colors!

(Notice the book in the background?!? ;D)
And then, I thought I would make a something relating to the sea! so I make a baby whale,.... and then I thought, hey why not make a Mommy whale too?! So I did! here is the little pair!
Aren't they cute?!

Mommy whale

Baby whale (Look how tiny!)

Well That's all folks! Hope you all have a splendorific day!
Also, I will post more information once I have finished setting up my new website! so stay posted!

Granny square-a-day Project!

Hey Everyone! So it saddens me that I haven't posted in a Month, and I have been telling myself everyday for a week, that I was going to post this, I just never came around to it... so here goes!

At the end of last year, My Mom told me about a challenge that was going around, where you make a crocheted afghan in a year, but crocheting a square everyday, or a square every week.
well, my squares are so small, (about the size of my hand,) that I figured that by the end of the year, I would have an enormous afghan!
So I thought about it, and decided that I would make a square everyday for six months, and make and afghan, and then start a knew square, and make a second one in the remaining six months!
So by the end of this year (hopefully) I will have one afghan finish, and a bunch of squares for a second one!
Hopefully I feel dedicated to this project and I keep it going..... I am already behind quite a few squares, so I need to take a day and crochet like ten of them....
And part of My problem is I have really be in the mood to read, like I am devouring books!
I went to the Library with my Dad and siblings last night, and I got a whole arm full of books, when I know I should be crocheting with my spare time, I plan on curling up in a warm blanket, and reading for hours on end. ah! Why can't I read and crochet at the same time??? I think if I ever was given the chance to choose at what I would like to multitask at, I would say reading and crocheting, since that is the biggest thing that I struggle with! Of course if I sat long enough thinking about it, I would probably be able to think of all sorts of things..... Well, back to business!

Underneath are pictures of the different color combinations I am working with.
I don't know how I am going to assemble them as of yet, but I want to wait until all of my squares are done, and then lay them out and see what I think then!

The Blue that I am using is my favorite color yarn for the project! Its Red heart Aruba sea!
Here are links to all of the yarn colors I am using.
Cafe Latte
Aruba Sea

Carrot
Spring Green

These squares are so simple! you basically crochet a circle, and then you work around the edges with the contrasting color.

I Love the Cafe Latte, and the Aruba Sea together, they are a great color combo!

Okay, so here are a few things that I thought I would show you guys!
This owl tin, is where I keep my buttons! Isn't it cute?!

I was making so many Christmas gifts for people, and one of the projects needed big buttons.
So my Dad went to the store, and bought a bag of all different sized and colored buttons.

These ones up above are my favorites, some of the you can't tell, but they are textured! They are awesome!

He also had to buy me some new hooks since when we moved I lost all but one of mine! and for Months I have been using my sisters which doesn't make her happy..... So my Dad got me two different sets!

The one with the smaller hooks came with a pair of scissors that collapse!
I tried to take a picture of the Hook sizes, not sure how clear is is, so it came with:
F/5-3.75mm
G/6-4.25mm
H/8-5.00mm
I/9-5.5mm
And the Bigger set came with
L-11 = 8.0mm
M-13=9.0mm
N-15=10.0mm
P-16=11.5mm

Well Bye for now!

Happy New Years!~2014!!!

Hello Everyone! Happy New Year!
I can hardly believe that it is already 2014! This year has flown by so quickly!
I also hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas! I am so sorry that I have not posted in so long! I have been so super busy!
Christmas gifts, family gatherings, church gatherings... ect. So I have been planning this post for a long while, I just really have not had the chance, or motivation to get to it.
So here it is! (Warning, it may be very long!)

Okay, so awhile back, (the second week of November) I posted about some dishcloths I had made. Well, I used that pattern some more, (a LOT more) and I made so many dishcloths! here are some pictures of the different color combos!

I made this first set for my Grandma, using three different shades of blue.

These pink ones, I made for a friend of ours, my Dad works with her husband, and they have us over every year after Christmas, we order Pizza and play games! (Notice our Christmas tree reflection in the picture :D)

These Purple ones, I made for our pastors wife, since purple is her favorite color!

I made these orange and yellow ones, (The yarn color is carrot, and cornmeal) for a lady at our church, they have us over every year on Christmas day, and we eat Christmas dinner, play games, and exchange gifts. She also asked me to make a set for her future daughter-in-law, but I forgot to take pictures, I made them in the color frosted pine, which was like a mint green, and then an off white, with mint green, orange, and brown flecks.

My Sister bought me a necklace, and it came in this adorable little box! Those were my Christmas nails :) red and Glittery!
Here is the necklace she bought me! I Love it!
The family who's house we go to on Christmas day, each year, their daughter made each of us a no-sew blanket! I LOVE Mine! it has owls, and birds all over it, and it is the warmest thing! It drapes off of my bed, so it can cover my whole body! I Love it!
My Parents bought me the warmest slippers I have ever had! They are called Bobs, and Sketchers makes them!

The Lady who made me that blanket also gave us this! An adorable owl pillow!

Our pastors daughter gave me these! And I LOVE them! they are silver mustache earrings covered in rhinestones!

I made this for the Lady who made my Blanket, sorry for the blurry picture.....

Okay, and the last thing, up above, is an ear warmer, that I made, and I am really quite pleased at how it turned out, since I made up the pattern for it!

So that is what I have been working on for the past Month, and I already am getting orders for more things I need to get done! So I am taking this week off, and am going to start working on more projects!

So I have been thinking about what my new years resolution should be, and I decided to share what a few of mine are!

1. Read the Bible through in a year, once, twice, it doesn't matter, as long as I do it.
2. Try to be in a constant state of prayer, everyday.
3. Be a Happier, and nicer and caring person.
4. Write 100,000 words or more for my story, this year, before November.
5. Complete the NaNoWriMo in November, and complete the 50,000 Words

Well that is all for now! Sorry for such a Long post, but I had a lot of catching up to do! :)
 Happy New year!
~Madi

P.S. I am trying to think of something I can post about each week.... I would love some ideas! if you have any, leave them in the comments below! Thanks! :)

Our Christmas Tree Hunt!

So yesterday, we went with some friends to pick out our Christmas tree! It was my first time ever getting a real tree! Since we moved, we now have the room for a real one!
I took this picture on the way there, it's a little blury due to the fact we were driving, but I thought it looked pretty neat! Almost like a painting!

So these next few picture are of snow in the trees needles! I love these pictures!

Trees out in a field! This picture was a bit washed out so I just darkened the contrasting colors!

A tree aisle! There were rows upon rows of trees! We wanted the perfect one, and we finally found one that we all liked!

We brought it home and let it rest over night. And we will probably decorate it today!
Well gotta go!
Have a great day!

P.S.
I bought an iPod touch a few days ago, all pictures in the post were taken with it! I'm loving the camera feature!

My Sweet Sixteenth!

I was born 16 years ago today, November 24th 1997. I am 16 years old!

Though when you have a birthday you normally don't feel a real change, when you turn 16 it's kind of a big deal!
Turning from 15 to 16 is like turning from a young lady to a young woman!
And I Thank the Lord for the 16 wonderful years he has blessed me with here on this earth!
So my Mom and Dad threw a sweet sixteen party for me last Friday!
It was decorated totally my style!
Crazy colors! Owls! Everything! I loved it! (Thanks Mom! It was awesome!)
We had a lot of people who came, and it made me feel so special!
I am truly blessed to have such an Amazing family and church family, who care about me, and love me, and I thank the Lord for them!
They willingly offered to bring a dish, and we had a wonderful meal and great company!

When a Birthday comes, though it's not everything, getting gifts is always fun, and I think I got too many! ;P I feel spoiled now!
Here are some that I can think of off the top of my head.....

A Family from our Church bought me this bag from the company thirty-one, and it has the cutest owls on it! and guess what!?! They FILLED it with yarn! I love the colors they picked out too! so excited to make stuff with it all, I don't know where to begin!

My Nana bought me perfume, and nail polish, and this cute little scare crow owl!

So I am really into mustaches, and last year for my birthday my family bought me these....
They are called Sun-Staches! :)

LOVE them! :D
And this year, our Pastor's family bought me this pen! when you push the Mustache down it says in a deep voice... "Well hello there"

and this bank that says stash! Love the plaid!

My Aunt gave me a Bowling ball! My very own! And Bowling shoes! aren't they cute!?! I love them! I cannot wait to go bowling!

Another Aunt, bought me TONS of chocolate, and guess what!?! it's all Dark chocolate! my absolute favorite! And I didn't even tell her! My sister said I can keep my chocolate under my Pillow now....hmmm. :D

I have been wanting a pair of converse for awhile now. I had a pair of Rocket dogs, that look similar, but I really wanted to get a pair of converse, so my aunt Bought me a pair of black ones! They are a little Big, so I am going to exchange them for a different size, but I love them! :)

So my friend from Church is an Amazing cake decorator and cookie decorator! and she made me this Beautiful cake! I loved it! The colors are so bright, and she had edible glitter ALL OVER IT! (and I LOVE Glitter!) it was so pretty!

Check out her Etsy shop, and see what other great things she can make!

Now my sister went all out.... I had no clue she was planning this! It was so sweet!
She bought me a Dark chocolate Bar (It was delicious!)
two stuffed animal owls, one a key chain and one not, the brand is called beanie ballz and they are So CUTE! :)
then she was shopping on Etsy and she bought me these necklaces, one of them I have been wanting, and the other was one that she liked! Are they not Beautiful? I love them!
I was so excited when I opened it! She is so sweet sometimes! :)

and she bought me this ring! with a cute little owl on it!
This Morning, being Sunday we get up early for church, and one thing that we always do for our birthday is we get a special breakfast.
Well my dad wanted to surprise me, so he got up early and went to McDonalds and bought me breakfast!
An egg white delight McMuffin, Hash browns and a White chocolate mocha coffee!
and he brought it to me to have Breakfast in bed!
Thanks Dad!
then from My Mom and Dad, I got, This Awesome house key with a treble clef on it! I LOVE it!

They also Bought me a Mustache flash drive and it's hot pink! I will post pictures of it later! :)

I had a very good Birthday! And I cannot wait for thanksgiving! :)
Well I have to go now!
Also, I am working on a gift for my cousin who's birthday is the day after mine! :) (Will post pictures soon!)
